My professional interests are mainly in Behavioural Biology but also in theoretical
biology, paleontology and archeology. I have worked with some very different species e.g.:
African catfish (Clarias gariepinus), Chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes), Western
lowland Gorilla (Gorilla gorilla), Guinea pigs (Cavia aperea f. porcellus) and
Guppies (Poecilia reticulata).

Currently I am managing editor of BEHAVIOUR
Paleontology has become a more than serious hobby, and as a guest researcher for naturalis (National Museum of Natural History) I have been collecting and describing fossiles from the quarry in Winterswijk (Trias).
Together with Dr. Nicole Klein we have a paleo-dig in summers for students of the universities of Bonn (Germany) and Utrecht (the Netherlands).
The nothosaur skull depicted
in the background of this website is one of the centre pieces of the Winterswijk-collection in Naturalis.
